Yay for Parades!

We have found a fun new activity the whole family enjoys - parades! We went to our first one as a family a couple days ago on Memorial Day. We decided to check out the Perrysburg parade, just to do something festive, and come to find out, the boys loved it and Chris and I thought it was too cute. We got a nice spot on Main Street, under a tree, where we could set up our tail-gating chairs. It wasn't too crowded, it wasn't too long, and it was fun to see all the locals. Some of the highlights included the Perrysburg High School marching band (Colin loved the drummers, *happy sigh*), the Boy Scouts (who gave out candy), the HVAC guy riding around in a motorized AC unit, and of course, the fire engines. I don't really know if Eli enjoyed the parade as much as the rest of us, but he seemed pretty content and was happy to get out of the stroller at the end. I think the highlight for him was trying to engage every dog we came across, including a statue that we passed on our way back to the car. Silly Eli.

Waiting for the parade to begin.

Colin could hear the marching band, but couldn't see anything yet. He was anxiously waiting for his first glimpse.

Checking things out.

Enjoying candy from the Boy Scouts.

Here it looks like Eli is enjoying something in the parade, but really he just thought it was funny to touch Chris' leg. Such a goof!

The fire engine!

Exciting but also too loud.

Getting brave enough by the end of the parade to wave back at people.

Sorry baby, you're never gonna win that staring contest.
