Eli is 3!

Last month, our Eli turned 3. He has grown so much in the last year. It amazes me how much earlier #2 has picked up on things compared to #1. Just from watching and listening to Colin, he has learned how to spell and write his name. He also learned how to ride a bike last Fall and has been flying around on it all Spring. He loves coloring and drawing whenever Colin has homework to do, and he cracks me up with the grown-up things he says. He has also proven to be an awesome big brother. I wasn't sure how he would react to having a new baby brother, since he was the baby and had received so much attention with all of his medical issues, but he has really stepped up to the task. He is so sweet with Logan and he loves helping me with him. If Logan is ever fussing and my hands are tied, I can rely on Eli to try to entertain him as best he can. I also love that he is such good friends with Colin. Despite the occasional bickering, they really play so well together and it's so cute to see him try to emulate his big bro.

Eli is my spirited child. He can blow up at the drop of a hat, usually just by asking him to clean up his toys, but he quickly gets over the insult and is back to his usual happy self (even after said toys have been taken away). He gets an A+ in ignoring me and is my kid who I have to hold onto with a death grip in the parking lot. He likes to roll on the floor of every store we visit and has been known to hit girls just because they're girls. But oh.my.gosh that kid gives the best kisses. He actually doesn't like to kiss most people, but he will take *my* face in both of his little hands and plant one on me every single day.

We're still struggling with knowing whether or not he's potty-trainable, but he's definitely showing interest and we're working toward getting that accomplished so he can go to preschool in the Fall. I know he wants to go to school even though he'll claim he wants to stay home with me for the rest of his life (usually to get out of using the potty). He spent most of this year asking to go to school with Colin and I think he'll really benefit from having something to do that's all for him and doesn't involve his brothers.

We had fun on his birthday just hanging out, opening gifts, playing at the park and eating pizza and cake. Happy birthday to our lovable Eli! It's so much fun watching you grow up!
